Question of the Day:

  • What are the 4 organs of the urinary system and what is the function of each?

Objective:

  • Students will show knowledge of how body systems work together to allow the human body to work as a whole.

Activities:

  • First half of class – work on the Human Body Project
  • If you finish early you can study for the unit test which is tomorrow
  • Review for test

Homework:

  • Unit test TOMORROW!!!!
  • Human Body Project due Monday (will be presenting in groups)
  • Frog Dissections next week!!!

  • List two ways the musculoskeletal system and nervous system would work together.

Objective:

  • Students will show knowledge of how body systems work together.

  • Human Body Project

Objective:

  • Students will show their understanding of how systems work together to perform a task.

Activities:

  • Work on Human Body Project

  • Owl Pellet dissection Monday and Tuesday

Monday February 25th, 2019

  • What are your 5 senses?

Objective:

  • Students will show how the systems work together to perform a task

Activity:

  • Essay on vaping
  • Excretory system notes
  • Begin Body Systems Project

Homework:

  • Body Systems project is due next Monday.  You will not dissect if it is not completed and done well by next Monday.
  • Your Unit Test is this Friday, the review guide is due Thursday

Friday February 22nd, 2019

Question of the Day:

  • What are the three parts of the brain and what does each part control?

Objective:

  • Students will show understanding of how the nervous system functions

Activities:

  • Nervous system scenario
  • Nervous system quiz
  • Excretory system Notes

**Someone broke one of the meter sticks yesterday and did not tell me.  Had that person told me, it would not be a big deal.  However, that person/persons tried to just hide it by throwing it away.  Until I know who broke the meter stick there will be no labs or activities.  This includes owl pellet dissection and frog dissection.

  • None

Thursday February 21st, 2019

  • What are the three functions of the nervous system?
  • What is a nerve cell called?

Objective:

  • Students will demonstrate how senses have different reaction times

Activities:

  • Nervous system lab

Homework:

  • Complete and turn in nervous system lab if not completed in class
  • Work on study guide due next Thursday

  • How many bones do we have in our body?
  • Where are red blood cells made?

Objective:

  • Students will know the structures and functions of the nervous system.

Activities:

  • Nervous system notes

Homework:

  • Unit study guide is due Feb. 28th.  Must be complete if you want to retake the test which is March 1st.
